There are so many great places to hike in Door County! Here are some of our favorites

Peninsula State Park- Hemlock Trail/Skyline/Nicolet Bay Trail

Park at Weborg point and cross the road to Hemlock Trail. We like it because it doesn't have a lot of traffic, even during peak seasons. Folks tend to hike the more popular trails like Eagle, or those that they can access directly from the tower or campgrounds. Amazing forest trail loaded with Hemlock, Cedar, Birch, Fir and Pine. We often see deer on this hike and it is a great place for birding in the morning. The loop can be up to 4 miles, depending on the route you take, but also can be as short as 2 miles. Check out the old graveyard on the left at the beginning of the hike.

Ellison Bluff County Park Head north on 42 about 5 minutes past Sister Bay and turn left at the sign for this county park. Designed by prominent landscape architect Jens Jensen, it has his signature curved road that reveals the view as you drive in. Most people come here for the overlook on the bluff above Green Bay. It's true that it is a great sunset viewing spot. But the 1.25 mile hiking loop with an easy, wide trail into the woods and along the bay is also pretty cool.

The trail has interpretive signs identifying natural elements.
